My new Mercedes CL is a truly spectacular automobile, yet it became quite apparent shortly after delivery from the dealer that it was lacking in both sound and navigation. Now, this isn’t meant as a slight to the hard working engineers at Daimler-Benz. On the contrary, it’s actually a compliment to you and your staff at Sounds Good.

You see, the systems you’ve created for my past cars have me accustomed to both incredible sound as well as navigation systems that are fully featured and easy to use. By comparison, the stock system in my new car left me wanting more. The navigation system, in contrast to the after market systems I’d become familiar with, seemed almost unusable.

I was prepared to pass on any sort of upgrade, though, because I didn’t want to risk losing existing features or jeopardizing the integrity of the technology that is so much a part of the new CL-Series. Your reputation precedes you, though, and based on past experience I knew your team was adept at working with the complex systems of today’s modern cars.

You didn’t disappoint. You were able to bring my current system “up to par” by integrating new components into the existing technology of the vehicle — all of which works perfectly! The new system works seamlessly with the existing controls and the installation was done so unobtrusively that the car has retained a totally stock appearance.

I’m sure for most owners of a high-end vehicle it’s daunting to turn over a brand new car that costs over six figures to someone that will be taking it apart! In my book, there’s only one place I could truly feel comfortable that this process is undertaken with undeniable care, experienced precision and a singular focus on quality. I know you treat my car as if it were your own.

After a number of installations, you have proven to me that not only is my new vehicle in the safest of hands; I can trust your expertise implicitly for the design of the system, selection of the products to be used, installation and final tuning of the system.

I delivered to you one of the finest examples of advanced automotive engineering. You returned it even better!

The following is a quick summary documenting how much NME has "saved" thus far since the implementation of alarm systems on our company vehicles.

Our experience indicated that out of 61 vehicles we have alarmed in the past year and a half, only one was vandalized. This is an excellent track record since NME incurred over $43,000 in theft and vandalism losses on these same vehicles before they were alarmed.

NME’s investment in the program will continue to profit as we control and reduce losses in years to come (at no additional investment).

Since NME’s successful involvement in security system, I strongly urge other firms to protect their fleet investments through a security program such as the one you’ve recommended to us. This complaint is regarding the installation you performed of an ALPINE compact disc system in my Mazda 626 LX. Please refer to your invoice #5182, dated 3/21/89.

First of all, as a direct result of you work, I have been sitting in my parked vehicle, powerless to leave it for the confines of either home or office. The length of time involved varies according to the number of tracks remaining on the disc.

Second, my expenditures for gasoline have increased as I circle aimlessly about, completely oblivious to the constraints upon my time and the destination to which I was headed.

Third, I have suffered otherwise inexplicable urges to sell my home and move to Rancho Cucamonga, in order to extend my commuting time to 90 minutes or so.

I am afraid that I shall be forced to hold you responsible for all associated costs, unless you agree immediately to schedule an appointment for its removal and replacement with a Fujitsu Ten by April 1, 1999.
